For teachers and students: A recent editorial in the Tifton paper used the old saying "You can lead a horse to the water trough, but he won't drink unless he's thirsty." The adage was directed at parents and others who expect teachers to perform magic in the classroom. Listen up. Students won't learn in the classroom if they are not motivated and given support from home. With the new school term on the horizon, students, parents and guardians need to get over it; teachers can't perform magic. Get with the program and do what's best for the students.
